The Sale of Thixendale 1941

In 1941, Sledmere sold off some outlying portions of the Estate, including a number of properties in Thixendale. The original sale catalogue has been obtained and it is reproduced here. It provides a fascinating overview of the village at that time, detailing who was living in the properties, their landholdings and rents.
