The Sale of Thixendale 1919

A catalogue offering parts of the village for sale was produced in 1919. This catalogue has been transcribed on to this site.

Currently there is no information on the result of the sale. The majority of the lots for sale in 1919 also appear in the catalogue for the 1941 sale, suggesting that the sale may never have actually taken place.

This has been provided by Mr. M. Thornton ~michael~, whose father and grandfather both worked for the Wood family at Gills farm until his father moved to Thornholme to work for another Wood family member.

Any further information relating to this sale would be gratefully received.
